Today I hosted a little Mother's Day party for some close friends & family. It was a Lark & Lola party, but Mother's Day is special to me these days because, well:
Since I couldn't splurge on big beautiful hanging flower baskets, I used some wire to hang my antique Ball jars as hanging vases. Also - I'm excited to give you a better look of the bench we made this week - but that's for another post. Here's just a peek:
Inside, guests found Mother's Day gift bags.
I served lots of dainty treats:

I just love lemonade when served in this kind of bottle {silly, I know, but I'm a sucker for all things pretty & esthetically pleasing}:
Cake balls! {Inspired by Bakerella, and these gained many fans today.}
I attempted to make macarons, and they turned out delicious, but not so perfect looking. Fussiest. Recipe. Ever.

We pitched a couple canopy tents to provide a nice shade. See the chandelier?

I had the most lovely guests.
Here is my own mother & grandmother, aren't they cute?
And four generations - all girls!

Happy Mother's Day!

  7. Thank you! Macarons ARE VERY tricky! But only 4 ingredients and 10 minutes to whip up so I'll be practicing until I get them right!
